Dr Guy Laffan Named Best Young Dentist in Wales
Dr Guy Laffan of Laffan Dental Care has had his dedication and dental expertise recognised once more after winning the award for Best Young Dentist at the 2016 Dentistry Awards.
An iconic event that has graced the historical Athena in Leicester every year for a decade, the Dentistry Awards recognise the best and the brightest in the UK’s competitive dental industry, and this year was no different.
Since graduating from Bristol Dental School, Dr Guy Laffan has worked hard to develop his skills at his family dental centre. With a long list of loyal clients already established, Laffan Dental Centre gave Guy the perfect platform from which to apply his skills and built a reputation as one of the best young dentists in the country.
Despite his age, Dr Laffan has already gained a post-graduate diploma in implantology and is now working towards his masters. He has also gained recognition for becoming one of the highest providers of Invisalign Braces in Wales.
Commenting on his most recent award, Dr Laffan said: “I was completely overwhelmed and in genuine disbelief that I had actually won. It was such an honour to have won such a prestigious award. It means so much to me having worked so hard over the years to be where I am now. It feels amazing to have put Blackwood on the map when it comes to high-quality dentistry and patient care.”
Dr Laffan also received an overwhelming response from the local community after winning his latest accolade: “Coming home after the award was just incredible – the response from the community has been incredible and I’ve had messages of congratulations and well wishes every day since winning.”
Dr Laffan also received the Highly Commended Young Dentist of the year award at the Private Dentistry Awards, a prestige dental industry award which recognises the rising talent of the cosmetic dental industry
When discussing his plans for the future, he said: “In the future, I hope to just continually better myself in every way so that I can continue to deliver the highest possible quality of dentistry to my community.”
